Artist: “I try to photograph what people may not see every day, i.e. dew on a spider web or a wilting flower. Some things people walk right past and don’t give a second thought. Creating something beautiful and unexpected from those small things is what I truly enjoy.”
Bio: Jules Miller is an independent artist who works in a variety of mediums. Her focus over the past 9 years has been developing her love for and skills with photography. She seeks to capture scenes of nature, architecture and history that speak to the heart, but also to the mind. Her most recent works have taken macro-photography to a different level. By inverting the colors in post-production, she creates photos that have people questioning what the subject or view actually is in the photo resulting in a new and unique perspective on photography.
Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Jules has always been interested in painting, drawing and crafting. In 1997, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lehigh University and then relocated to South Florida in 2001 to further her art career and gain additional experience in shaping her style. She was featured in the 2004 Delray Affair and has created pieces of corporate art for display, as well as many pieces for private collections. She has participated in the Boca Raton Art Museum’s Artist Guild and has showcased her work at Delray Beach’s Art & Jazz on the Avenue. In September 2008, her exhibit at the Delray Beach Public Library was entitled Our World: Real & Imagined, which highlighted some of her best works. A very proud moment came in Oct 2011, when one of her photographs was selected as part of the Be Inspired! Exhibit at the Museum of Art | Ft. Lauderdale. Currently she is a member of the Broward Artist Guild and Americans for the Arts and continues to exhibit her photography in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
